Anything Goes
As you know, electronic music these days comes in all shapes, sizes, and forms. It has flourished in the underground, invaded its way into the mainstream, and filled up every crack in-between. With so much of it at our disposal, though, never before has individuality been a more important attribute. If you want to stand out, following in the footsteps of the past is not an option, it's about creating your own lane. And with the release of his sophomore effort Tones, that's exactly what 21-year-old producer/singer AGENDAS has done. Featuring six intrinsically different yet equally great tracks, Tones nestles in the affluent cove between conventional pop music and forward-thinking electronic music. Drenched in ambient yet engrossing synth lines, songs flow in and out of 80's glam pop and modern R&B influences. As the production on the EP alone is worth drooling over, AGENDAS provides even more incentive, exhibiting his mesmerizing vocal range on many of the tracks. It's music that's hard to not enjoy, and all in all, Tones amounts to one of the stronger EP's we've stumbled upon this year--showcasing the glory one can find when a unique outlook meets immense talent.
