Caught Sleeping: Tom Demac- Critical Distance Pt. 2

WE'RE SORRY FOR SLEEPING ON THIS. DON'T MISS IT NOW THOUGH

We're not quite sure how we missed this tune to be honest. We love love Hypercolour, the label that released it, and we try our best to keep up with all the best tunes coming out of that label, but somehow Tom Demac's massive "Critical Distance Pt. 2" slipped through the cracks. With all the big names releasing full lengths in the last month (Flying Lotus, The xx, Grizzly Bear, Mala, etc.), I suppose we just lost sight of dance music singles for a brief moment. If there is one deep house tune from the last few months that we slept on it is definitely this one, however. When Skream and Benga played it out on their BBC Radio 1 show recently they called the bassline, "absolutely disgusting," and we tend to agree.

Now this isn't a "disgusting" bassline in the brostep sense, it is a "disgusting" bassline in the best kind of way. This song is just huge. On a proper system it could literally change lives. In fact, it probably has already. But don't take my word for it, watch the video for "Critical Distance Pt. 2" with your bassbins turned on blast. Also, make sure that your Mom isn't asleep in the next room when you do. There is no way that you won't wake her up from playing this one.
