Claps- Shelter

DARK 80's VIBES THAT BLOT OUT THE SUN

The bleak minimal techno of Claps is good music to be sad to. The sparse "Shelter" leaves you alone with your own thoughts as reverb soaked vocals wash over you. Brooding analog synths and live bass give the album an authentic feel, capturing the 80’s zeitgeist better than just about anyone else. Lots of bands claim Joy Division and Depeche Mode as influences, but Claps sound like they might have drank at the same bar as Ian Curtis. The Minneapolis trio's debut full length Glory, Glory is out on Moon Glyph now. You can listen to "Shelter" below.
