Arrange just released his Five Years With The Sun on JUKBOXR Records. It’s a beautiful and lush record paying homage to Malcom Lacey’s former home of South Florida. As successful as the record has been, Malcom is already spearheading an effort to self-release an EP to vinyl. To do this, he needs all of our help. You can help realize his effort right here by donating. What’s awesome about this is that there are different levels of donation; the more you donate, the more of a reward/gift he’ll give you.

Along with the project, Arrange has released the video for one of the songs off the new record, New Memory EP. It chronicles Malcom and his partner’s trip from South Florida to their new home in Portland. The heartfelt video matches the beautiful and warm texture of the song. And plus, their dog is adorable.

Shinny, shimmering synth-based house music that makes you want to do nothing more but reach for the sky and dance the night away will always have a place in our hearts. It’s been awhile since anything in that field has had a lasting impression on us, but thanks to this song here we can officially say that drought is over. “You Said You Loved Me” is the kind of track that combines everything that is good about dance music. Like, if we had to give someone who didn’t know the most broad example of what “dance music” is, this would be it. From the very first drop, it’s instant elation, and that jovial feeling lasts all the way through to the very last drum kick.

I gotta be honest with our readers. After M.I.A. dropped her last record I was ready to write her off. It was a terribly uninspired and mediocre release for the underground rapper turned international pop sensation. Shoot forward to today and we see the release of M.I.A.’s video for her new single “Bad Girls.” After the incredibly disappointing /\/\ /\ Y /\ I didn’t want to like it at all. I had already written the video and song off along with the rest of M.I.A.’s career. Well, after watching this vid I can say that I was completely wrong. I should have never written her off. This video is brilliantly swagged out in the best kind of way and Romain Gavras’ excellent direction helped to contextualize the song for me. Let’s just hope that the rest of Maya’s next album is just as on point as this single/video is.

SAUX: REAR WNDOW EP

Amsterdam-based producer Saux has been a long time fan of LFTF. I don’t think we’ve ever posted something about him before, and it’s a little dumfounding as to why to be honest. This dude dabbles in the arenas of funk, soul, jazz, and sample-based beat electronica. His newest endeavor is Rear Window EP, which starts off with a solid jazzy track accented by the soul and jazz-laden vocals of Joya Mooi. You can download the entire EP from his bandcamp for free.

WOLFEY- SLEEP COUNTRY

Back in December, Wolfey released his three-track record Sleep Country. The Montreal-based outfit mixes the epic grace of UK bass, the subtleness of electronic composition, and, in James Blake-ian fashion, throws in some dubby soul.

It’s a fascinating introduction record that screams, “I’m here, get used to it,” and it’s not worth passing over. Remember how during Halloween you’d get all shitty to mediocre candy, but then there’s the one piece you find buried at the bottom? You know, the one you actually went trick-or-treating for. This record is that candy. A stellar diamond in the rough. Find it. Consume it. And definitely look out for more.
