After signing to both Interscope Records and Top Dawg Entertainment, The South Central based Black Hippy outfit consisting of Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock and Ab-Soul have yet to release an official group project. However, you can definitely expect to hear some collaborations from them on Ab-Soul‘s recently disclosed debut album Control System, releasing on May 11th. Along with the announcement of the album comes a video for the album’s first single, “Pineal Gland”. Created by APLUSFILMZ, the song’s visual reinterpretation is as trippy as Ab-Soul’s word play. Check it out now below.
Odd Future finally hook up with Lex Lugar, the trap music producer to the stars, and the end result is great. Although, neither Tyler nor Earl go in over this beat, it’s MellowHigh (not MellowHype, mind you), the one-two punch of Hodgy Beats and weed fiend Domo Genesis, that have at it instead. “Big Spender” just dropped two days ago and now we already have ASAP Rocky‘s next tune available to download. “Goldie” is the first single from Rocky’s debut full length, which is slated for release in July at the moment. No word yet on whether or not the tune is named after the DnB legend of the same name, but it is produced by Hit-Boy, you known that dude behind “Niggas in Paris.” Let us know what you think about the song in the comments section.

We can’t say that we are the biggest Theophilus London fans, but ever since the video footage of him and ASAP Rocky working in the studio together surfaced on YouTube, we’ve been looking forward to hearing “Big Spender.” This one lives up to the hype and Rocky in particular delivers some of his most confident bars to date. Download/stream the tune below.

Katherine Fussey aka Joyce is the niece of some famous guitarist, which means that she probably paid a lot of money to have hip-hop producer of the moment, Clams Casino, remix her song for her. That is fine with us, because everything new from the Clams Casino camp has sounded great, especially his recent remix of Florence + The Machine. Clams’ remix of “Keep The Lights On” is another solid addition to his catalog of tunes. Stream it via the SoundCloud player below.
Our boy RAJA hit us with a full mixtape of grade A remixes earlier this week, but in between tripping out over new SpaceGhostPurp tracks and tweetingtheeverlivingshit out of Grimes it looks like he’s found time to add to his repertoire. And this might be his most #rare one yet. Here remixing “Mercy”, the first single off the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music album, check RAJA’s flip now below.

There’s something to say about the production style of New York’s very own Aesop Rock. The rapper’s new single “Zero Dark Thirty”, which debuted today, feels like an old-school breakbeat. Lined with fierce vinyl scratches, smooth descending bass lines, and an arpeggiated lead, the song feels just as uniquely ragged as vintage Aesop numbers, and denotes a more than strong return for the cult underground MC. His upcoming LP Skelethon will be released on July 10th and will be the man’s first album in over half a decade. Download “Zero Dark Thirty” below.
