We’ve prolly posted about every Lunice Boiler Room mix to date, but we love this dude’s live presence and mixes so much that we had to jump on posting his latest Boiler Room set to hit the internet. Not only that, but if you look really closely at the video footage of the set you might be able to spot a certain LFTF staff member zoning out/occasionally going HAM and CHORIZO while Lunice laces the crowd at the Boiler Room SXSW house party with everything from Addison Groove to TNGHT to Meek Mill and more. Let us know which LFTF writer you think it might be in the comments section and download the mix to take with you on the go here.
After seeing TNGHT‘s (Hudson Mohawke x Lunice) debut performance at SXSW this year, we already knew that their EP would end up being one of our most highly anticipated releases of the summer. Since SXSW, a bunch of radio rips of TNGHT’s songs have been floating around the net with little to no information regarding their EP’s release date. Today, however, shit got real. The duo’s self-titled debut EP will hit store shelves on July 23rd via Warp x LuckyMe. In the meantime an official full stream of “Bugg’n” has been uploaded onto YouTube. Stream it below and pre-order the TNGHT EP now over at Bleep.
Our long time friend Brenton Duvall–who rose to a substantial amount of fame a few years ago for hismash-upwork–recently turned 21 years old, and with it, has announced that his sound will be making the leap into maturity as well. For the longest time, Brenton has struggled with not being able to create the innovative and forward-thinking material he’s capable of, in fear that his 10,000 person strong, mash-up loving fanbase would reject him for it. Well now officially an adult, the time has finally come for Brenton to emerge from out under his shell, and the first taste of his new direction arrives in the form of two instrumental Drake flips. Needless to say we fully support the transition from mash-up territory to a more sophisticated sound, and cannot wait to see what the future brings for our friend. Download Brenton Duvall’s rework of “Doing It Wrong” and “Crew Love” below.

TOKiMONSTA, the Queen of the LA Beat Scene, got together with Philly’s Suzi Analogue to form a new project called Analogue Monsta. Below is the tripped out, (possibly) seizure inducing video for their first song “Time To.” It’s directed by The Great Nordic Sword Fights, who had Suzi Analogue rock some of those fresh as hell Jeremy Scott x Linda Farrow shades in between shots of an animated, neon colored, guitar slinging superhero.
It’s not that we completely wrote Odd Future off as has-been’s (as many people did), it’s just that after Goblin and a few other throw away’s last year, we needed the group to prove to us again why we fell in love with them in the first place. After a quick rise to fame, it was easy to see that inherent youthful and carefree outlook fade a little bit in their second recording efforts, and plain and simple it just didn’t feel like they were having fun with it anymore. Now it can be hard for any artist to cope with the newly added weight of expectation, so with the release of their newest project OF Tape Vol. 2, which dropped today, we were interested to see how the group has grown over the past year. After just a quick listen of the album, I think it’s safe to say Odd Future is back having fun.
Below, watch the video for the album’s closing track “Oldie”–a 10-minute bar for bar rap-off featuring every OF member–and I think you will agree, the OFWGKTA clan is back to doing what they do best: make amusing, honest to god rap songs about being immature and not giving a fuck.
We love our dude Clams Casino, and not only because he creates mind-altering hip-hop beats. He also likes to give them away for free, and we all know there’s no music like free music. Clams’ latest gift comes in form of the instrumental to his Big K.R.I.T. remix, something “for the warm weather” as the tweet that went along with it explains. We definitely agree, as this piece of production is the equivalent to a cold drink on a hot day in July. We’re thinking 7-Eleven Slurpee.
