LUNICE 35 MIN BOILER ROOM MIX FROM SXSW

We’ve prolly posted about every Lunice Boiler Room mix to date, but we love this dude’s live presence and mixes so much that we had to jump on posting his latest Boiler Room set to hit the internet. Not only that, but if you look really closely at the video footage of the set you might be able to spot a certain LFTF staff member zoning out/occasionally going HAM and CHORIZO while Lunice laces the crowd at the Boiler Room SXSW house party with everything from Addison Groove to TNGHT to Meek Mill and more. Let us know which LFTF writer you think it might be in the comments section and download the mix to take with you on the go here.

TNGHT- BUGG’N (FULL STREAM)

After seeing TNGHT‘s (Hudson Mohawke x Lunice) debut performance at SXSW this year, we already knew that their EP would end up being one of our most highly anticipated releases of the summer. Since SXSW, a bunch of radio rips of TNGHT’s songs have been floating around the net with little to no information regarding their EP’s release date. Today, however, shit got real. The duo’s self-titled debut EP will hit store shelves on July 23rd via Warp x LuckyMe. In the meantime an official full stream of “Bugg’n” has been uploaded onto YouTube. Stream it below and pre-order the TNGHT EP now over at Bleep.

BRENTON DUVALL REMIXES DRAKE

Our long time friend Brenton Duvall–who rose to a substantial amount of fame a few years ago for his mash-up work–recently turned 21 years old, and with it, has announced that his sound will be making the leap into maturity as well. For the longest time, Brenton has struggled with not being able to create the innovative and forward-thinking material he’s capable of, in fear that his 10,000 person strong, mash-up loving fanbase would reject him for it. Well now officially an adult, the time has finally come for Brenton to emerge from out under his shell, and the first taste of his new direction arrives in the form of two instrumental Drake flips. Needless to say we fully support the transition from mash-up territory to a more sophisticated sound, and cannot wait to see what the future brings for our friend. Download Brenton Duvall’s rework of “Doing It Wrong” and “Crew Love” below.

DNTEL FEAT. BATHS- STILL

According to Pitchfork, Dntel is the moniker for producer and The Postal Service collaborator Jimmy Tamberello. This song is very interesting. Its uniqueness comes from its production value. It’s a pumping mirage of repeating and swirling goodness that immediately picks up and never lets down.

NIGHT SLUGS COMING IN STRONG

In case you couldn’t already tell, we have had a long standing love affair with London label Night Slugs and the consistently good music to come out of it and it’s solid roster of producers/DJs. We already told you about their new Club Constructions series and now they are coming in strong with a few more newsworthy bits and pieces. Next up from the Night Slugs camp is the long awaited return of club heavyweight Girl Unit. The man also known as Philip Gamble is set to see the release of his Club Rez EP on May 7th. The EP will feature 6 new and original productions. Preview a rip of the EP’s title track via YouTube below.

Yesterday, Night Slugs also debuted a “new series of official Night Slugs mixtapes.” That will serve as “an in-house platform that will allow the key DJs in the camp to open up their collections and showcase their individual styles. Each volume will act as a DJ’s manifesto, stacking up to shape the wider NS universe. The first instalment in the series is mixed by label executive DJ Bok Bok.”

You can stream/download “NSMIX001″ below along with another Night Slugs freebie– Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990‘s remix of French House producer Surkin‘s “Gold Island.” Bok Bok’s mix showcases the four-to-the-floor riddims that put Night Slugs on the map in the London club scene to begin with and closes out with an unreleased tune from Kansas-born friend of the blog, Morri$. Be on the look out for a Night Slugs release from him in the future.
