“wen uuu” is part of his 3 track Vacation EP, which is due out next month via Friends of Friends. The 12″ of the release will feature remixes by Groundislava, Airhead, Salva and Nicolas Jaar.
This tune is beautifully languid. The muffled piano swirls with soothing goodness while coupled with the crisp cymbals and deep, yet poppy snares. It results in Ricky Eat Acid‘s encapsulation of the very essence of warm and fuzzy. Download it below.
We’ve been hyping up Bay Area production duo Friendzone pretty frequently here at LFTF, but that’s only because they’ve got so much to offer. There’s nothing a blogger loves more than a musician who releases music frequently and for free, and Friendzone does both of those things. Sometimes it’s not even their own music they’re releasing. Take this new compilation they’ve put together entitled Kuchibiru Network 2. Although including some new material from the two themselves, the piece mainly serves as a platform to put on fellow producer and rapper friends. Appearances on the tape come from Main Attrakionz, Shady Blaze, occasional Danny Brown producer Skywlkr, along with a bunch of others. Check it out now below, and also look out for an exclusive LFTF Mix coming from Friendzone whenever they get around to making it. Kuchibiru Network 2 by Friendzone
This guy just can’t do wrong. Late last night Flying Lotus uploaded this rare new tune to his SoundCloud account, entitled “Mister Murky Socks”. Now if you’ve heard Flylo’s beak-out 2008 album Los Angeles, then the tune should sound familiar, as it’s an alternative take on one of the best cuts from that LP, “Robertaflack“. Check out the track now below.
If your style of music hinges on beautiful ambience, atmospheric haze, and glitchy to trippy beats, you must acquaint yourself with Sydney, Australia resident Jarred Beeler, who runs the excellent music blog Life: Aquatic (a personal favorite). He recently posted a tune from Mosis that we can’t turn off. “Outwash” drips and hiccups its way through melodic waves of vocal samples and deep pads. Enjoy.
Another dope beat from LFTF favorite and St. Louis’ Ra Cailum. Seriously, we don’t understand why this 19 year old kid isn’t bigger than he is. That’s where all of you come in.
It’s been a hot minute since we’ve posted some jazzy hip-hop beats, but today we got a special compilation for you all. KIN has but together some chilled out, soulful, and jazzy beats that blend nicely with the cooling temps here in the northern hemisphere. You can download the entire collection from his bandcamp.
