YOU SAID YOU LOVED ME
posted by Mike Wash in Disco, House
02.04
Shinny, shimmering synth-based house music that makes you want to do nothing more but reach for the sky and dance the night away will always have a place in our hearts. It’s been awhile since anything in that field has had a lasting impression on us, but thanks to this song here we can officially say that drought is over. “You Said You Loved Me” is the kind of track that combines everything that is good about dance music. Like, if we had to give someone who didn’t know the most broad example of what “dance music” is, this would be it. From the very first drop, it’s instant elation, and that jovial feeling lasts all the way through to the very last drum kick.

LFTF PRESENTS: JANUARY 2012 MIX
posted by Mike Wash in Monthly Mix
01.30
Let’s face it, our Monthly Mixes last year–although cool–lacked one very important thing: actually “mixed” songs. There’s a reason we’re bloggers people. Stringing together words comes a lot easier to us than stringing together songs. So rather than buying a copy of Traktor and embarrassing ourselves, we did the next best thing: recruited an in-house DJ. For now on, Texas based DJ/producer Skrause–who you may remember from his stellar Purple Slab Mixtape we posted last month–will be handling our Monthly Mixes, taking the curated playlists we give him and turning them into seamless streams of swagged-out frequencies. We are extremely happy to welcome Skrause into the LFTF family, and once you click play below, we think you will be too. We have big things planned for 2102. Ride with us.
