NATASHA KMETO: THE ACHE EP

Dropping Gems, the Portland beat label that we brought to your attention last month, followed up their excellent Gem Drops Two compilation by releasing an EP yesterday by label signee Natasha Kmeto.  This singer/producer recalls Katy B with her excellent vocals, while her productions resemble something more akin to the funky/jazzy/bubbly vibes of Brainfeeder tracks than the bass heavy riddims of grime instrumentals. Having already been rinsed on Mary Anne Hobbs’ Xfm show, Natasha is someone within the electronic music world to keep an eye on and her The Ache EP proves that. Stream Natasha’s take on “futuristic soul” via the Bandcamp player below and download the EP in it’s entirety for whatever price you want over at the Dropping Gems Bandcamp page.
