With his recent songs “Versace Rap” and “Gold Chain Ricky”, LA rapper Vince Staples has been our go to guy for laid-back raps to zone out to lately, matching compelling lyrics with equally intriguing beats that just beg to be replayed. Seriously though. On my iTunes alone I’ve listened to those two songs for a combination of 115 times. Sorry I’m not sorry. And this Vince Staples iTunes dominance will only continue to grow too, as the dude just dropped a new 10-track mixtape entitled Shyne Coldchain Vol. 1. At this point, we’re only a couple songs into it, but so far so good. Best lyric so far: “You want some positivity go listen to some Common.” We’ll just leave it at that.
