Meet Last Japan, a DJ/producer from London specializing in UK Bass and other hybrid genres. Now we know what you’re thinking, just another London bloke with a Mac computer making laid back dance tunes in his free time. But trust us, Last Japan’s got skills. And after graduating last year at the top of his class from the Academy of Contemporary Music in England, he’s now got the degree to prove it. This weekend saw the release of the Last Japan’s newest project, 3Thousand, a five-track EP that we feel is the producer’s strongest to date. Layering deep bass heavy tunes with lush R&B samples, Last Japan’s style as well as versatility shines bright on 3Thousand, keeping things relaxed and easy at times (“Y.O.U”, “Blue Skies & Aeroplane Trails”) as well as going hard if need be (“Ragid Style”). Stream/purchase the entire EP now below.
